Mebus Estate  

1994 was certainly a year to remember for us.  Our first vines were being planted after a year of intensive searching throughout New Zealand for the best place to grow vines and make wine.

Of course being the only vineyard in a very rural area seemed to be a gamble but 15 years later we have been vindicated.  Dozens of vineyards and hundreds and hundreds of acres of vines surround us now.

Our family vineyard grows Pinot Noir and Gris, Chardonnay, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and a smidgen of Cabernet Sauvignon. We treat all the varieties differently both in the vineyard and the winery in order to get the best out of wines.  We combine the best techniques of the old world and the new world to make our wines true to the region and it’s terroir.

Our wines are drunk on every continent. Served in Michelin star restaurants, royalty and nobility, as well as amongst friends. We make wines to be enjoyed.
